I am working on Terms of Use for this so that the limits, while as broad and open as possible, remain entirely clear. Until those are done, please remember:

1. No profanity or vulgarity (in any language) beyond damn and hell. If you need to quote someone please revert to the old days and use first and last letters with a bunch of stars in between like b*****d.

2. No personal attacks, no insults and no nasty comments. The primary purpose of this forum is the free and friendly exchange of information about living in Uruguay. It is neither a 'slash and cut' debating society for verbal sparring, nor an online spleen venting receptacle for comments composed of virtual agua regia. Ladies and gentlemen can certainly disagree, without being disagreeable. If you cannot adhere to these standards, perhaps you should start your own forum with rules that better fit your needs.

3. No commercial links or advertisements without specific prior approval. (You are free to buy and sell your own personal goods, real estate etc.)

4. Stay on topic! This forum is about Uruguay, not about the US, the UK, the EU or even Outer Mongolia. If you want to debate those topics please do so somewhere else.

This is a great idea to have a forum established for those thinking of exiting to UY. With my retirement age around the corner and the current world situation, I feel the need to find a location to finish out the day. Reminds me of the old movie "On the Beach". My wife and I will be in town 10-16 through 10-18, and I hope that the weather and climate hold. I have a rudimentary grasp of Spanish although my wife speaks, reads, and writes well. I hope to learn as we go along. I am pleased that UY is not Disneyland SA., and hope to be able to adapt to UY as opposed to the opposite. Just a quick thanks for your efforts. Best regards, Anthony
